CREATIVE ARTS EMMY, Outstanding Innovation in Interactive Programming

In 2021, Apple and MediaMonks launched Time Capsule, an augmented reality episode/app of the hit AppleTV+ show, For All Mankind. The goal of this experience was expand the world of the series in the decade that passes between seasons one and two. This exciting project was a perfect fit for our multidisciplinary team of designs, illustrators, modellers, animators and developers.

7 scenes, 40 objects, 1 story

In addition to the iconic products, we created over 40 original props from concept to modelling to interaction design. Our concept and 3D teams worked closely with Apple and the show runners to ensure each scene combined era-specific product design and visual treatments for every prop. Each scene hosted a key object such as the shoebox of memories and fully functioning TV and VCR. And each had additional elements added to further the narrative: From stickers, mission patches and handwritten notes to an 8-page newspaper filled with articles, fictional ads and easter-eggs.

app store launch & social marketing

We launched in the AppStore alongside the premier of season two with a social campaign created by our team. 80's-inspired art, animation and sound design compelled viewers to Unbox and unravel the past - alluding to the historic nature of the series and teasing the backstory to-be-discovered in the app.
